Embedding Videos in Canvas

In Canvas, you have the ability to embed your UD Capture videos directly into your pages and assignments. Embedding your videos through the integrated apps tool can easily embed a video from your My Media. This method will embed the video without a transcript. Embedding a video with the transcript:

  1. In Capture Space: Click the “Share” icon in the upper right
  2. Copy the Embed Code
  3. In a Canvas page:
    • Open the page and click “Edit” in the upper right.
    • Click the “Insert” button near the upper left then “Embed.”
  1. A new window will open. Paste the embed code that you copied from Capture Space here.

Alternative method for embedding a video with the transcript:

If the above method does not work for you, and/or results in the error message “No Source Video Found,” please follow the steps below:

  1. In Capture Space: Locate the Embed Code below the video and copy it.
  2. In a Canvas page:
    • Open the page and click “Edit” in the upper right.
    • Click the “Insert” button near the upper left, then “Embed.”
  1. A new window will open. Paste the embed code that you copied from Capture Space here.
  2. Modify the number after “uiconf_id” to 43030631
  3. Adjust the “Height” to at least 520.

Note: You may change the width as well if you want to increase or decrease the size of the player.
